The Aqualliers is Vandenberg's Scuba Diving Club. The club has a large roster and a unique opportunity to dive in the pristine conditions of which most divers can only dream. Southern and Central California diving offers fantastic Kelp forests and an abundance of marine life. Specific dive interests within the Club vary tremendously and your interests can be shared once you begin to meet the different members. Special opportunities include the availability of numerous boats, local chartered and beach trips, weekend camp-outs, BBQ's and more. Come join the fun!
The club has achieved many privileges from Vandenberg Air Force Base officials. But along with these privileges comes a great responsibility. We are a recreational dive club, and a great deal more. We promote not just recreation, but conservation and education. There are frequent classes being held on base by our certified instructors in PADI, NAUI and SSI. Open water Certifications run every few months, advanced classes are by request as are specialty certifications. Summer brings on Discover Scuba courses at the base pool for families new to Vandenberg so they can become acquainted with the underwater world and our club. On any given weekend you'll find members participating in countless hours of community activities from species identification for Local Boy Scout troops, to assisting training exercises with safety divers. Our club has a long wonderful history of over 30 years at Vandenberg, and the support of community organizations.
There are defined requirements for membership in the Aqualliers. Since our club is on Vandenberg, you must have access to the base and be a part of the community. The regulations governing our activities on base are outlined in 30th Space Wing Instruction 32 701

Lobster season is coming! We still have to make sure our gear is in top shape and we're ready to go. After all, you never know when we're going to have good vis! Some of our members did a bang up job of taking advantage of every opportunity to get wet they could find during this year, even when they moved away. Thanks to all of you guys who were kind enough to share your pix with us. And thanks for letting the Boat Buddies and Bunnies ride along when we couldn't dive. |
