Here are just a few of the classes & activities we've had over the past year!

If you're interested in learning how to dive or in an advanced class, call Bob Johnson at 452-6218 or email Bob at: sugadaddy9292@netzero.comPool Practice

We also have Discover Scuba classes for families who may want to see what diving is all about! This is a class that familiarizes you with dive gear and how to use it in the water. Watch for info at the Activities Center. Ray explaining gear

As part of your instruction you will learn to control your buoyancy with your BCD, or buoyancy control device, that looks like an inflatable vest that holds your tank strapped onto the back. This is probably the toughest part of the class, but with practice, you'll master it! Buoyancy Practice

Here are a few shots of our recent classes held at the Vandenberg Pool. This was a good sized class as you can see, and the pool can accomodate a large group. Assistant instructors are on hand assisting our instructors at each class to keep the ratio small and make everyone comfortable. Beginning of Class

In class you'll learn to navigate with a compass and use, to a high level of comfort, a set of standard hand signals every diver uses. This way you can communicate with your dive buddy underwater. Buddy diving is always taught, and we dive with buddies. Not only do you get to enjoy things with friends, but it's great to have a pal who can witness "the one that got away"!Over here, Newbie!

To receive an Open Water certification you must also complete four open water dives in the ocean. Ours are usually done at Refugio State Beach, or at the Boathouse dock area past SLC 6 on south Vandenberg. Here Sara finishes her open water dives at Refugio with Bob Johnson. These are beach dives, and when you learn your beach entries, learning to boat dive is a walk in the park!Sarah & Bob
